The week before Thanksgiving, my daughter sent me a pin on a stunning table centerpiece. It featured white pumpkins covered with writing. Squinting, I realized the words were expressions of gratitude.
Stellar idea! I wrote “I Am Thankful For…” on two white pumpkins and plopped them in the middle of the dining room table Thanksgiving morning with some Sharpies. As I watched from the kitchen, my family wandered over to check out the interactive table art. By dinnertime, those pumpkins were blanketed with words.
On that day, fourteen family members wrote from the heart, surprising me with their candor. They were grateful for everything from fur-babies to the Marines. The words, Worship, The Bible, and God reflected their deep faith.
I’m so blessed to be part of a family that credits God with all things good and thanks him for it.
I recommend you try the same decor next year with your family. You’ll learn a lot about your table mates.
